February 2017 | ISE Magazine 59 Time and again, members and conference-goers list network- ing as one of IISE's prime benefits. And for those working to increase quality and efficiency in health systems, there's no better place to network than the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference March 1-3 in Orlando, Florida. The warm weather will be welcome after the cold of Feb- ruary, and the program has a number of built-in networking events to help attendees expand their circle of contacts and make new friends. March 1 includes a student reception, a welcome reception and an innovative speed networking event. Those who sign up will be paired with other conference attendees round-robin style to chat brie fl y and exchange ideas. An additional networking reception will take place March 2 in the Exhibit Hall. Light snacks and beverages will accom- pany fun competitions in an informal setting to learn more about the Society for Health Systems, the driving force behind this annual conference. All this activity is bolstered by nearly 100 breakout sessions, pre-conference workshops and keynote speakers Julie Ginn Moretz, the associate vice chancellor of patient- and family- centered care at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sci- ences, and consulting statistician Donald J. Wheeler. Learn more about the keynote presentations by reading in- terviews with Moretz and Wheeler at www.shsc fere ce.org/ Moretz and www.shsc fere ce.org/Wheeler. The March 1 pre-conference workshops include: • "Developing Your Ability to Lead Teams – From the Inside Out" by Jean Ann Larson of Jean Ann Larson & Associates • "Intensive Lean Huddle Board Workshop: Developing Lo- cal A3 Thinking Teams to Set Yourselves Up for Success," featuring Brock Husby of KBPI/University of Michigan and Jerry Berlanga of KBPI • "Toyota Kata: Improving & Coaching Your Way to Suc- cess in Healthcare," led by Brandon Brown of Continuous Coaching Commitment LLC and Skip Steward of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp.
