Access the IE Body of Knowledge Today
IISE is proud to offer the IE Body of Knowledge — a 40-plus-page document that
represents a repository of essential information for the field of industrial engineering (IE).
The resource is made up of knowledge areas (12) representing a taxonomy of relevant IE
concepts. Each knowledge area is represented by an outline that defines what needs to be
known to achieve mastery in the field of IE.
More than just an online resource, the Body of Knowledge is an opportunity professors
can use to inform their curriculum, students can use as supplemental knowledge and
professionals can use as an industry guide.
Get Involved
There's power in connecting to the community of over 40 volunteers who manage and
organize the Body of Knowledge. As a volunteer, you will have a hand in making
