It is expected that doctoral programs to be formed will expand the department substantially. The BS in Manufacturing Engineering is accredited by ABET. http:// www.utrgv.edu/maie/ Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Systems Engineering, or a closely related field from an ABET accredited university. Applicants must also possess excellent managerial skills, record of service, and leadership in related fields. The successful candidate is expected to have achieved excellence and balance in teaching, research and service, collaboration with faculty across disciplines and the ability to involve undergraduate and graduate students in research activities. A demonstrated ability to engage external stakeholders from industry and the community are expected. Experiences with and commitment to ABET accreditation are expected. Candidates must meet institutional requirements for the rank of Associate or Full Professor, including high- profile publications and a successful record of diverse sources of external funding. Leading by example, the Chair will present and promote a vision for Departmental growth, diversity, academic leadership and excellence, and will represent the Department to academia, industry, and government for its continued innovation. Preferred Abilities: The successful candidate for chair will be able to nurture faculty and student-success, develop metrics of performance, collaboratively formulate and implement strategic plans for the department, and move the department forward as a team with the goal assisting the unit to contribute to UTRGV becoming an emerging research university.
